We are pleased to inform you that the abstracts selected for the 21st AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting which took place at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh (19 – 21 September 2018), have now been published with the BJS online.

General information

Abstract submission is now closed and successful authors have been notified along with instructions on how and when to present their abstract.

Instructions for Presenters: Poster Presentation

Poster boards will be clearly marked at the venue. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the three day meeting at the Murrayfield Stadium. Posters must be put up where indicated between Wednesday 19th from 1pm to  10am on Thursday 20th September at the latest. Materials will be provided for attaching posters to the posterboards.

Posters should be taken down after 12:00 on Friday 21st September and we regret that AUGIS is unable to return any posters which are not collected from The Murrayfield Stadium after this date.  All posters must be 840mm (84cm) wide x 1188mm (118cm) high (A0) to fit in the available space. All posters must be in PORTRAIT orientation. Please note that posters not in this format will not be displayed.

Instructions for Presenters: Plenary and Short Paper Presentations

All presentations throughout the meeting will be delivered using PowerPoint format and authors will be sent detailed guidelines prior to the conference.

Successful authors will be required to register for the meeting. Please go the registration page for more details.

Please note that all abstracts accepted for AUGIS 2018 will be published with the BJS Online. Accepted abstracts will also be made available to delegates at the AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting through the Meeting App.

We recommend you apply for study leave well before this date to ensure that you are able to present your work at the meeting.

How to submit your Abstract:

AUGIS abstract submission is facilitated through Oxford Abstracts via an online submission form. Please refer to the Oxford Abstracts Privacy Policy for further details on how your data is used.

To submit your abstract, you will need to click on the Submit Now button below. This will take you to the log on page to register and then to complete your abstract:

Please note that you must:

  • complete your abstract using the online submission system only
  • Please use Arial Font (please do not complete in Upper Caps only) and keep within the word count as per the submission page and boxes.
  • There must be only one presenting author per submission.
  • The title and content of your submission must be anonymised and not mention any units/trusts on any other identifiable details. Any identifiable content will result in the abstract being rejected.
  • Remember that any changes to your abstract can only be done before the submission deadline date of Monday 2nd July 2018, so please ensure that you have checked all spelling, grammar, author details and affiliation details, as this cannot be changed once the deadline date has closed.
