The Training Morning will provide Trainee Surgeons with an opportunity to take part in and observe Vivas with Faculty members from various Upper GI sub-specialties.
We will have 10 experienced surgeons available. These include Simon Paterson-Brown and Prof James Garden, both previous AUGIS presidents. The session should not be only for those about to sit the exam but also those trainees who may be a couple of years away from sitting the intercollegiate exam as these sessions will also provide updates on current practice. Although this may seem a daunting session to attend the whole purpose is to improve exam technique in a constructive way.
The Vivas will be on Bariatrics, Benign OG, Malignant OG, Benign HPB and Malignant HPB.
