President of AUGIS, 1998-2000
I was one of the founding members AUGIS and was able, with others, to foster this group into a specialty which is now recognised as a powerful force within General Surgery. Splitting this group from General Surgery has enormously advanced the standard of care for the patient and the safety of surgery.
