Research Interests
Author of over 140 peer reviewed publications. Co-principle investigator of several national and international clinical trials investigating the role of peri-operative chemotherapy in resection of colorectal liver metastases and biliary cancers, and ablation techniques of liver tumours. Other research interests include decision making models and neural networks in the management of advanced colorectal cancer, quality of life issues in the management of primary and secondary hepato-biliary malignant disease and health economics of the treatment of hepato-biliary cancers.

Interests Outside Of Medicine
Collecting modern art, surviving the rough at West Lancashire, exploring South America, and hoping against hope that despite their recent run of good fortune, Man U will never emulate Liverpool Football Club’s historic dominance of both the domestic and European football agenda.
