AUGIS – National (UK) HPB Audit Member for Scotland.
The national HPB MCN promote Excellence in Surgery in Scotland. In 2003 we launched a national minimum data set (mds) for all UGI/HPB cancer patients, and this went online across Scotland in July 2008. We now aim to integrate this mds with the AUGIS HPB audit process to ensure we have robust data for HPB cancer patients across the UK.
Clinical Interest
My main clinical interests are in HPB surgical oncology (with an active program for Laparoscopic Liver and Pancreatic resections), and laparoscopic surgery for benign HPB pathology. I am also interested in new developments in surgical endoscopy, including Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for bile duct cancer.
