This will provide an excellent opportunity for trainees across Great Britain and Ireland to meet a range of local and national experts in Upper GI and HPB surgery. The theme of the programme is “Back to Basics”; this will highlight some key aspects of safe practice within Upper GI surgery.
The programme will include:
- Safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- Liver Trauma
- Skills stations including laparoscopic hernia repair, surgical anatomy, parenchymal transection techniques and key aspects of MDM for HPB and OG surgery
- Bariatrics symposium with guest speaker Mr D Kerrigan
- “Meet the professors” - Small group tutorials with leading experts providing the opportunity for higher trainees to prepare for exams
Places will be limited. Please note the venue for the training day is located within a 5 minute drive from Belfast City Airport.
Transport
- A coach will collect trainees from outside The Belfast Waterfront at 08.00 for the Training Day at 352 Training Academy.
- A coach will collect trainees from the 352 Training Academy at 18.30hrs for the AUGISt Dinner which is taking place at Nick’s Warehouse.
