AUGIS Training Day (Wednesday 2nd September)
Upper GI and Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic Workshop
Trent Simulation & Clinical Skills Centre
This year’s teaching day offers a unique opportunity to work in a state of the art skills and simulation centre and be trained by some of the UKs best UGI surgeons.
The Programme will include:
- Skills based hands on sessions including management of UGI trauma, liver resection and ultrasound, UGI laparoscopic suturing and stapled anastamosis, Common Bile Duct exploration and cholangiography
- A simulator session involving an UGI scenario on the SIM-man unit
- Small group tutorials with the UK’s leading experts on pancreatic, biliary, UGI and Obesity topics – case scenarios and problems but also an opportunity for trainees to ask those awkward questions that never seem to get answered at the meetings!
- Guest lecture on - How to win the medal for the third part exam
Places will be limited and are expected to go very quickly. Delegates must be Barrett’s Club members and registered for the AUGIS meeting. The course is heavily subsidised by our Platinum partners and promises to be a unique training opportunity. University accommodation will be available for the meeting literally adjacent to the EMCC with free use of all the University Sports facilities (gym, pool etc). The Barrett’s Club Annual Dinner will be held at The Carriage Room the same evening and transport for this will be included.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham
