My name is Noreen Hawkshaw and I have worked as both an Upper GI and HPB cancer nurse specialist over the past 15 years in Leeds. My aim during my term as a council member is to continue to facilitate robust networking nationally and to provide a strong voice for us to educate, investigate and reflect together.

A huge thank-you to the valuable work by Venetia Wynter-Blyth who stood down from the AUGIS council at the beginning of the year. Venetia’s hard work over the last three years highlighted the valuable contribution nurses and allied health professionals make to patients with upper GI conditions.

The very successful training days and forum allowed professionals to network and learn from each other at national level. These opportunities highlighted common issues and I hope, as the new representative, to take these themes forward for further discussion over the coming months.
