Professor Keith Roberts
Surgical Specialty Lead in Pancreatic Cancer
Summer 2019 Report
Forty pancreas surgery trainees and consultants met at the RCS in February 2019 for the first meeting of the pancreas SSL team. From that meeting we are developing cohort studies to evaluate pathways and nutrition, a randomised trial to evaluate surgery to improve R0 margins in resectable pancreatic cancer, standardised reporting of radiology for pancreatic cancer and national audits of borderline resectable and locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
We look forward to seeing the results of the RICOCHET national audit and this will likely inform the research program going forward.
At the AUGIS meeting 2019 we will hold a SSL session and welcome submissions from trainees to present their research abstracts or ideas.
The team are excited about the opportunities to perform collaborative research and welcome colleagues to join.
