     Key Conference Dates:

  • Abstract submission opens: Friday 9th January 2026
  • Abstract submission deadline: 23:59 BST Friday 13th February 2026
  • Acceptance notifications issued: Week beginning 2nd March 2026
  • Conference dates: 22nd – 24th April 202
 

 

All submitted abstracts undergo a thorough and anonymous peer-review process. Abstracts receiving the highest scores are selected for presentation, either as oral, video or poster sessions.

Full submission guidelines are available below. In particular, please note:

  • Abstracts must be no more than 250 words in length.
  • The submitting author should be the author presenting at the conference.  If not, please advise AUGIS of any change of presenting author.
  • Abstracts should be formatted with an Aim, Method, Results and Conclusions (except case reports).

Abstracts can be submitted under the following categories

 

  • Basic Science
  • Biliary
  • Education
  • Liver
  • Pancreas
  • Transplantation

 

Rules of Submission

Please ensure that all named authors have reviewed and approved the abstract prior to submission. Each author is responsible for confirming that the submitted data is accurate, not extrapolated, and fairly represents the content to be presented at the GBIHPBA & Spanish UK HPB Meeting.

 

  1. The abstract should be no longer than 250 words (not including title, or headings, aim, method, results and conclusions). It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep to the word limit.
  2. Abstracts are to be submitted as text only. No graphics or tables are allowed.
  3. Please use a spell checker on your abstract before submitting it.
  4. All areas of the form must be completed; failure to do so will result in the form being rejected.
  5. It is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide is correct and to check the content of your abstract and especially contact information. We cannot be held responsible for your abstract not being graded as the content was missing or for failure to notify successful authors of abstract acceptance if you did not fill the form in correctly.
  6. Please ensure your e-mail address is correct as you will be notified by e-mail if your abstract has been accepted.
  7. Evidence of falsification of results, plagiarism and/or misrepresentation will be treated as professional misconduct and will be reported to your Deanery and/or GMC for further investigation.
